(Rubbish)

There’s only 3 days left in the month of January, and for this I am eternally grateful. Only one month into the year and we’ve already been hit with variety of big contenders, including but not limited to, new albums by Spoon, Vampire Weekend, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Los Campesinos! and Beach House (among many others that I’m sure have slipped through the cracks for me this month). On the other hand though, it’s also been a very exciting month, particularly for the announcement of now-not-so-distant release dates for new albums from artists both new and old (Gorillaz, The Soft Pack, Marina & The Diamonds, Goldfrapp, etc.)

Perhaps January is a good indication, musically, of the year to come. I hope so. So, while we’re all still trying to figure out how we feel about the new Spoon album, here’s a few treats from this year’s up-and-coming albums to keep you going this weekend.
